Eagle Rock Elementary School Eagle Point School District | Eagle Point, OR

The unique nature of the elementary school experience, sustainable design strategies, and the opportunity of a challenging site formed a basis for the design of the new Eagle Rock Elementary School. The building was oriented on the site to preserve existing trees, take advantage of views, and minimize site grading. Designed to accommodate 350 students with expansion potential to 450, this 40,000 sf multi-level building was designed to achieve a LEED Silver rating and has been identified by the State of Oregon as a High-Performance School. By utilizing a cooling tower with re-circulated water from underground storage tanks, natural daylighting, on site treatment of storm water, and a highly efficient mechanical system, the building is 30% more energy efficient than a typical new school building. The large open Media Center is the heart of the school and will serve as the link between the various classroom groups, each of which will serve as individual learning communities within the overall school.
