Lauren Miranda
“I ground myself in those who came before me and those who will come after me, whether completing an operations task or challenging oppressive systems and ways of being, I know that I/we stand on the shoulders of mavericks with the responsibility to keep reaching and stretching for the next generation.”
Lauren (they/them/she/her) recently joined IBI as the Office Administrative Manager. This new role is a homecoming to the field of architecture and design for them after seven years in the nonprofit sector. They bring six years of experience as an operations and administrative leader at a full-service retail architecture and design firm in Long Beach, CA.
During their time in nonprofit, they served as a program director for an organization whose mission and values were dedicated to educational equity and racial/social justice in partnership with schools throughout Oregon, held the role of lead administrator at a nonprofit that provided one-on-one support to youth and families, and served as a program creator and manager at an educational nonprofit that supports B/I/PoC (Black, Indigenous, People of Color) in gaining access to STEAM education (science, technology, engineering, arts, and math).
They are excited to blend their passion for design justice and educational equity in their new role.
